The people – of all the Asians I have met, the Philippinos are the most generous and friendly. They are very inquisitive and polite and moreover they are very respectful. They always seem happy and smiling and they love to sing and dance and will always look for opportunities to do so. Meeting people and making friends is the easiest thing to do in the Philippines, more so then anywhere else in the world.
Spectacular beaches – the Philippines is one of the largest group of islands in the world, comprising of over 7,000 islands. The beaches in the Philippines are some of the most beautiful in the world and you will not find anything like them. If you are into beaches with white sand and turquoise colored water, this is definitely the place for you.
Shopping – When I saw all the huge shopping malls in Manilla, I said to myself that the Philippine people must be mad about shopping. Later on, I understood that shopping is a way of life passed down from generation to generation. In any event, shopping in the Philippines is indeed a worthwhile experience. The country is known by many as a huge all-purpose shopping center. You can find anything and everything there. Of course, it all depends on what you are looking for and what your budget is for that goal.
Nature and wildlife – The Philippines boasts some of the wildest life on earth. The Philippines if home to a wide variety of birds, plants, animals and sea life. There are over 200 million mammals on the Philippines, including the smallest monkey in the world, which is considered as one of the special treasures of the Philippines. You can find over 600 types of birds, over 300 types of reptiles and amphibians, and at least 400 types of corals. From the giant shark to the smallest fish in the world, everything you can dream of is found in the magnificent Philippines islands.
Weather – the average temperature on the Philippines is 26 degrees. Fortunately, the weather has not reached extreme levels of cold and heat so you can easily adapt to the tropical climate. The best time to visit is between November to May. There is also a period of monsoons with extensive rains from June to October, which is why it is less recommended to travel during those months. But really, there is nothing better than swimming at the amazing Philippines beaches with drops of rain falling around you.
